An Ode to my mother

 What shall I gift thou

O mother mine

All things possessed by me

art thine, O dear divine..

Like umbrella in the rain,

thou soothed my pain;

Nutured me in thy cocoon,

my life to me is thy boon..

What shall I gift thou..

Thou held my hand

on my feet, made me stand

Showed me the light of the day..

Thou pumped my enthusiasm,

undamped my dampened spirits.

Tell me, my guardian angel,

how can I thy pay??

Thou stood by me

during trials & tribulations

helped me out of out of

the dillematic situations

Thou art O mother mine,

a gist of Lord's best creation..

What shall I gift thou?

Daughter, sister, wife, homemaker

are some of various roles for thou unfurled.

But me thinks the hand that rocks the cradle,

Rules the whole wide world!

What shall I gift thou?
